Instinctive Code was created in 2004, and our mission is to bring powerful, intuitive and visually appealing software to Mac OS X and to the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch mobile platform.
We've been developing for Mac OS X since before version 10.0, and we're dedicated to the idea that ease of use and rich functionality aren't mutually exclusive.
We're based in the city of Edinburgh in central Scotland (UK), and we serve Mac users all over the world, with most of our clients in the US and Europe. You can get in touch with us via the contact page.
If you're interested in some custom Mac OS X and/or iPhone/iPad development work, you've come to the right place. Take a look at our services and our portfolio, and then contact us to talk about your project. We look forward to hearing from you.
The name Instinctive Code is intended to convey our conviction that user experience is key in modern desktop and mobile device software. We believe that the hallmark of truly great software is a careful balance of features and intuitive interaction, with visual presentation being at least as important as functionality.
Users are increasingly demanding excellent user experience from their software, both on desktop computers and on mobile devices, and it's no longer enough to provide raw functionality - the functionality must also be usable, and compellingly presented. This is arguably particularly true on the Mac OS X and iPhone/iPad platforms, where a poor user experience can often result in immediate marginalisation of otherwise capable software.
Instinctive Code can bring a passion for intuitive interaction design to your projects, and help maximize the success of your software.
